Inside the process of choosing a bespoke forged-wheel finish for a BMW M3.
As a car modification enthusiast, I recently experienced MJR Forged's custom wheel service, especially its colour customization. This is a quick look at the process.
Why MJR Forged?
MJR Forged specialises in high-performance forged wheels, crafted from aerospace-grade aluminium. They are lightweight, strong and designed to improve handling and acceleration. The standout feature is custom colour: beyond standard black, silver or gunmetal, you can choose matte, gloss, brushed or entirely bespoke shades.
The customization process
For a blue BMW M3 used on both road and track, MJR's team recommended a 19-inch multi-spoke design. We chose a brushed champagne gold rim with a matte black inner barrel, creating contrast that is sleek yet striking.
Custom wheels take four to six weeks. At around 9 kg, they are ultra-light, with flawless craftsmanship. The result shaved roughly 2 kg from the stock setup, sharpening steering and improving high-speed stability.
